Coordinate type of opening with information in Instructions toBidders.
A. All qualified bidders are invited to submit a Bid undersealed envelope to City of Talladega for construction of a 1,400 +/- L.F. of sanitarysewer line, sanitary sewer line point repair, sanitary sewer concrete manholes,sanitary sewer manhole rehabilitation, roadway trench repair, asphalt drivewayrepair, gravel driveway repair, concrete sidewalk repair, traffic control, andall necessary appurtenances at Battle Street, Talladega, Alabama, 35160. Ownerwill receive Bids at the Council Chambers, located at 203 South Street West,Talladega, Alabama 35160, until 10:00 A.M. local standard time on the 26thday of October, 2017 at which time and place the Bids will be publicly openedand read aloud. Bids not received by theindicated time will not be opened.
Briefly describe building, structure or Project size and materialcomposition. Following examples describe scope of Contract to potentialBidders:
Two new primary clarifiers, furnished and installed complete withsupports, electric drive units, sludge and scum collectors, effluentcollectors, sludge pumps, mechanical equipment, electrical work, andappurtenances, ready for operation.
Two-level parking concrete substructure, one street-level exterioraccessed public plaza, six-story cast-in-place concrete superstructure withglazed wall cladding, one steel-framed metal-clad penthouse, 85,000 sq. ft. (7900 sq. m) of gross area above grade, and 40 parking stalls below grade.
Select one of following time-of-completion requirements tocoordinate with Instructions to Bidders and Bid Form.
B. Owner requires the Project to be substantially completedwithin 60 calendar days after thedate when the Contract Times commence to run as dated in the Notice to Proceedand completed and ready for final payment within 90 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run asdated in the Notice to Proceed.
C. All Contract Documents may be obtained in electronicformat only from the Engineer via the Online Plan Library at www.insiteengineering.org. Addenda and other bidding information will beissued only to holders of drawings and specifications distributed by theEngineer.
D. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security accordingto the requirements in Bid Document Instruction to Bidders.
E. Other Bidding requirements are described in Bid DocumentInstructions to Bidders.
Consider using option in following Paragraph if special preprintedBid Forms will be used.
F. Submit your Bid on the Bid Form provided. Bidders arerequired to complete all sections and requirements as stated with the ContractDocuments.
Following Paragraph requires specific statements in Bid Form.
G. Bids will be required to be submitted under a conditionof irrevocability for a period of no less than 60 days after submission.
Consider including following Paragraph if a Prebid Meeting will beheld.
H. A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 10:00 A.M.local standard time on the 19th day of October 2017 at the CouncilChambers, located at 203 South Street West, Talladega, Alabama 35160. Each bidder will be able to view theconstruction area immediately after the Pre-Bid meeting.
