The Purchasing Department is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the City of Talladega receives the best price possible for goods and services. This includes approving department purchase requests, creating purchase orders, managing the city’s formal bid process, and ensuring purchasing procedures comply with the State of Alabama Competitive Bid Law. The Purchasing Division is also responsible for auctions of items declared surplus, and managing various City Projects.
The mission of the Purchasing Division is to provide quality service to both internal and external customers alike. We are committed to supporting City Departments by sourcing quality goods and services in an ethical, cost-effective, and timely manner while adhering to legal requirements as established by local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
