City of Talladega E-Recycling Day a great success

City of Talladega E-Recycling Day a great success

(Talladega, AL) Talladega residents dropped off a total of 4012 pounds of unwanted electronic items, including computers, televisions, hard drives, power supplies, phones, printers, battery backups, Christmas lights, DVD players, extension cords and microwaves, during the city’s recent E-Recycling Day event.

“A steady stream of residents eager to declutter their homes dropped off items throughout the day," said City Clerk Joanna Medlen. "In addition to providing a convenient service for the the community, E-Recycling Day teaches residents responsible ways to dispose of materials that should never be discarded outdoors or end up in regular trash containers."

Interim City Manager Danny Warwick added, “E-Recycling Day creates healthier homes by reducing clutter and protects the environment by assisting residents in properly disposing of unwanted electronics that might otherwise be dumped on on street corners or in other inappropriate location.”

Warwick and Medlen note that, thanks to the city's E-Recycling Drives, the community has become increasingly aware of the importance of protecting the environment and properly disposing of unwanted electronic items.
