City of Talladega employees provide gifts for PHFC

City of Talladega employees provide gifts for PHFC

(Talladega, AL) During a recent City of Talladega staff Christmas party, city employees presented representatives from Presbyterian Home for Children with gifts for children and families in need.  Employees from several departments pooled their resources to purchase a large stroller, a 6-volt ride-on toy, and a baby playpen for PHFC.

“City employees are generous and quick to assist others. They enjoy helping to make a difference by providing much-needed gifts and donations to children and families in need,” said City Manager Seddrick Hill Sr. “Each year during the holiday season, they purchase Christmas presents for Presbyterian Home for Children, which has such a tremendous impact in our community. In addition to supporting PHFC, many city employees also contribute financially to other charitable causes in Talladega.”

PHFC President Doug Marshall said, “Talladega is the home for the Home, and all of us at the Presbyterian Home for Children are deeply grateful for the Christmas love shown to our children and families by the employees of the City of Talladega.”

Throughout the year, the city assists the needy via various initiatives, including a food drive, a coat drive and a diaper drive. Unlike these initiatives, which involve the entire city, the Christmas presents come directly from city employees.

PHFC representatives had an opportunity to socialize with city employees during the party and explain who would receive the gifts and how they would impact their lives.
