(Talladega, AL) The City of Talladega recently hosted an informative Benefits Fair for employees in the council chamber at city hall. During the fair, workers visited booths manned by an array of experts to learn about beneficial programs and perks for employees. Topics covered included insurance, retirement, education and finances.
Representatives were available from Local Government Health Insurance, Regions Bank, Empower Retirement, LegalShield, America’s First Federal Credit Union, PNC Bank, AlaTrust Bank, First Bank of Alabama, Globe Life Insurance, CACC Skills for Success, Guardian & Mutual of Omaha Broker, Milwaukee Mutual Life Insurance, and Alabama First Responders Benefit Program (ALFRBP).
“The Benefits Fair gave employees an opportunity to speak directly with expert representatives regarding diverse employee benefits. Representatives discussed everything from personalized retirement planning and benefits for city employees who open new bank accounts to a free certification program for city employees,” said City of Talladega Human Resources Director Tanna Falkner.
“The City of Talladega is committed to attracting, developing and retaining exceptional employees who are equipped to serve our community with excellence,” said City Manager Derrick Swanson. “In return, our employees deserve to be rewarded for their dedication and hard work. The Benefits Fair helps ensure that employees are aware of and able to take full advantage of their benefits package and other special resources available to city employees.”
Swanson noted that the fair also aligns with the short term goals created by the City Council for the City Manager by assisting the city in recruiting and retaining employees.
CACC Director Jerry Creel, who participated in the Benefit Fair, said, “It is always an honor to participate and partner with the City of Talladega. We are glad that we at CACC can offer so many programs to assist our city and community. We are especially pleased to offer our free Skills for Success training classes to City employees as it ultimately benefits our entire community.”
