City of Talladega represented and recognized at Alabama Minority Vendor Conference

(Talladega, AL) Talladega City Manager Seddrick Hill Sr., Purchasing Director Renae Blackburn and Building Inspector Jeanette Jueckstock met diverse vendors at the recent Alabama Minority Vendor Conference in Birmingham, Alabama. Actor/real estate investor Malik Yoba, who spoke at the conference luncheon, gave a shout out to Talladega and met with Mr. Hill to discuss visiting the city.

"During the minority vendor conference, we were able to establish relationships with local contractors and increase awareness of our bidding process. This will help increase the number of businesses placing bids for city contracts and services," said Hill.

"Following the conference, I had a meeting with the guest speaker, Malik Yoba, who expressed an interest in visiting Talladega. While he is best known as an actor, he is also a real estate developer who focuses on mixed-use development projects in transitioning neighborhoods,” Hill added.

Purchasing Director Renae Blackburn said, “Participating in the Alabama Minority Vendor Conference helped increase awareness of Talladega among contractors and other vendors. Additionally, it gave the city an opportunity to discover new talent and build beneficial partnerships.”

Participating companies included Alabama APEX Accelerator, Caddell Construction LLC, Chambless King Architects, City of Talladega, Goodwyn Mills Cawood, Hoar Construction, HPM, Hope Credit Union, InMontgomery Media Group, Minority Vendor Program | SFC, Providence Staffing LLC, Southern Company, Southern Development Council, Technology Solutions, The Caring Foundation Of Blue Cross And Blue Shield Of Alabama, and Turner Construction Company.
