First responders enjoy special gift packages

First responders enjoy special gift packages

(Talladega, AL) Thanks to Talladega native April Marizette, City of Talladega first responders recently received Operation Gratitude gift bags filled with a wide array of snacks, hygiene products and other items.

“My uncle, Kenneth Dickerson, used to be Talladega’s fire chief, so first responders are near and dear to me,” said Marizette, who has arranged for Talladega’s first responders to receive gift bags annually for the past three years. “I want all first responders to know that they are appreciated for everything that they do for the community.”

“It makes me happy when I see photos of first responders smiling as they open their gift bags. I hope this gift is a reminder that someone cares about them and appreciates the job that they do.”

Interim City Manager Danny Warwick confirmed that the gift bags had exactly the impact that Marizette hoped for.

“I cannot overstate how much these gift packages mean to our fire fighters, police officers and other first responders,” he said. “The gifts remind our first responders that they are appreciated and valued.”

In addition to enjoying opening bags filled with great products and snacks, the first responders also appreciated the message on each bag - Operation Gratitude: Saying “Thank you” to all who serve.
