Georgia Pacific contributes $10,000.00 to support Talladega police and firefighters

(Talladega, AL) Georgia-Pacific recently donated $5000.00 to the Talladega Police Department and $5000.00 to the Talladega Fire Department in recognition of the emergency support they provide to the community.

Georgia-Pacific Plant Administrator Robin Bennefield, who presented a check to Talladega Fire Chief Danny Warwick and to Interim Police Chief Ronald McElrath, said, “Georgia-Pacific believes that strong communities are good for business. When the community and local businesses come together and support programs and initiatives that create societal value and improve the quality of life where Georgia-Pacific employees live and work, it’s a great thing to be a part of. Our focus areas are education, entrepreneurship, environment, and enrichment of the community. We are pleased to present the Talladega Fire Department with $5,000 and the Talladega Police Department with $5000.00 for the emergency support they provide to the community.”

The contributions will go towards equipment and supplies that help the departments to better serve Talladega.

“We sincerely appreciate Georgia‑Pacific for its outstanding support of both our fire department and our police department. This generous donation—along with annual contributions to Christmas on the Square—demonstrates Georgia‑Pacific’s unwavering commitment to our community," said City Manager Derrick Swanson.
