Talladega City Council attends Alabama League of Municipalities training in Montgomery, AL

(Talladega, AL) City of Talladega Council President Hugh Sims, Ward 1 Councilman Steve Dickerson, Ward 2 Councilwoman Vickey Hall, and Ward 4 Councilwoman Betty Spratlin recently attended an extensive Alabama League of Municipalities training conference in Montgomery, Alabama.

The council members gained valuable insights regarding leadership and legal issues during the conference, which included diverse activities designed to strengthen local government. Council President Hugh Sims is excited about the impact the training had and how the city’s relationship with the Alabama League of Municipalities will strengthen the council and benefit Talladega.

“The league provides a wide range of benefits for municipalities, including helping to establish better partnerships, acquiring consistent training, securing legal advice, increasing access to valuable resources, and collaborating with other city leaders to build more vibrant communities,” said Sims.

Councilwoman Hall added, "It was extremely informative, and I learned so much about legal issues related to ethics and other critical topics."

The Alabama League of Municipalities is a nonpartisan membership association of over 450 incorporated cities and towns. Since 1935, the League has worked to strengthen municipal government through advocacy, training and the advancement of effective local leadership. As the recognized voice of Alabama’s cities and towns, ALM’s member municipalities benefit from a variety of member programs, services and activities that are impossible to accomplish alone.
