Talladega Police Chief earns prestigious Certified Law Enforcement Executive designation

Talladega Police Chief earns prestigious Certified Law Enforcement Executive designation

(Talladega, AL) Talladega Police Chief Diane Thomas has earned the prestigious Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE) designation from the State of Alabama Officers' Standards and Training Commission. Chief Thomas was honored for this achievement during the recent Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police Conference in Orange Beach, Alabama.

A police chief must successfully complete 240 hours of extensive study and training through the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police and the University Partnership of Alabama to attain this designation. Chief Thomas was the only female police chief at the conference to receive this honor.

"I commend Chief Thomas for becoming one of the relatively few police chiefs to earn the prestigious Certified Law Enforcement Executive designation. This is an outstanding accomplishment," said City Manager Seddrick Hill Sr. "In addition to having the talent required to successfully lead our police department, Chief Thomas consistently goes above and beyond to hone her leadership skills and better serve and protect our community.”

"She made history when she became our city's first female police chief and, under her leadership, crime in Talladega has dropped in virtually every category," Hill added.
