Visitors Center Grand Opening October 9, 2025

(Talladega, AL) The eagerly-anticipated Grand Opening of the Talladega Regional Visitors Center will be held Thursday, 5:30 p.m. - 6 p.m., at the Historic Ritz Theater. A reception featuring delicious food and drink and an informative tour will follow immediately at the Visitors Center, which is located at 116 Court Square East.

"This will mark an exciting chapter in welcoming visitors, strengthening tourism, and showcasing the vibrant spirit of Talladega County and the East Alabama region," said Chuck Keith.

“The center will help stimulate economic growth, create job opportunities and elevate the quality of life throughout the region,” said Interim City Manager Danny Warwick. “I commend the Alabama Power Foundation, the Talladega County Commission, Alabama Historic Preservation Commission, Representative Steve Hurst, Senator Lance Bell, the Education Trust Fund Grant, and others who worked tirelessly to establish the Talladega Regional Visitors Center.”

Alabama Power Community Relations Manager Steve Marlowe stated, “The Alabama Power Foundation is proud to support the City of Talladega in its upgrades for the visitors center and to promote the many attractions in our region. From our rich history to major sporting events to outdoor recreation — there is something for everyone in our area. We look forward to seeing how this investment will increase tourism not just in Talladega, but in the surrounding region as well.”

Jimmy Williams added, “October 9th also marks the one year anniversary of OneEast, and we are thrilled to mark both historic happenings on Thursday.”

The Center features include impressive highlights of 50 attractions; 32-inch televisions displaying images of the county’s top 15 attraction; and space for presentations and events.

Construction began September 13, 2023.
