Water Department Update 7

Water Department Update 7

We are in the process of refilling the Waldo water system at a controlled rate through its 4" meter pit. This flow rate is being maintained for multiple reasons, one of which includes preventing trapping of air in the lines along the ridges and causing broken mains due to overpressure in the low valleys.

Also, we are filling the system at a sustainable rate to avoid breaks or additional outages within the Mount Olive system. We are monitoring our tank levels and Waldo’s operator is monitoring their system. We expect that the system will be recharged around mid to late evening tomorrow. If you are on the Waldo system, please continue to practice water conservation. Keep your faucets turned off, using them only for short durations, to bleed off air.  Also, check all of your pipes and service lines for leaks. Turn off your service if a leak is encountered.

All areas that have been reduced to no water or very low pressure should continue to boil water until the boil water recommendation is lifted.

Thank you for your patience during this process.   The water department is working hard to restore your service.
