Planning Commission:
The Planning Commission advises the City Council on municipal zoning regulations. The Commission recommends boundaries of zoning districts and appropriate regulations to be enforced therein. The Commission holds public hearings on any zoning changes and makes recommendations to the City Council in regards to any proposed changes. The Commission is responsible for the periodic development of master plans showing physical changes and capital improvements to be made in the City. The Commission prepares and administers regulations on subdivisions located in the corporate limits of the City.
Members of the Commission area appointed by the Mayor to serve six year staggered terms. The Commission is comprised of nine members, to include the Mayor, one representative of the City Council and one representative of the City administration. The Council and administrative representative serve at the pleasure of the Mayor or for their term in office.
